Angelfire was first released in 1996 as a web creation page
and medical transcript service. Eventually they decided to
drop the medical transcript service. Later in 1997, Angelfire was bought by WhoWhere. After that, in 1998, WhoWhere then was bought by Lycos. Today, Angelfire is still owned and operated by Lycos since the late 90's. Recently in 2010, they started to focus more on the website creation tool with social sites such as Facebook, Tumbler, Twitter, and even YouTube due to the increase in popularity of this sites.
